PRHI x KotS Simulant Stalker (Miniborg) Collaboration   Leave a comment

This project has been in the works for a while now and I’m super excited to start showing it off!

A while back after my big run of Knights of the Slice customs, Jesse reached out and offered me the opportunity to design my own character for an official production run. It was such an incredible opportunity and I tried to dig deep through my 80s mecha influences, resulting in the Simulant Stalker, a cyber-enhanced bounty hunter who stalks renegade robots in Harbor Noir. The standard version of the figure will be up for sale tomorrow night at 7:30PM EST from @toypizza

After that, I’ll be debuting a 3D printed accessory set available though the Prometheus Rising Heavy Industries Shapeways store. Then after that I’ll be releasing a custom run of Deluxe figures including the accessories and additional paint work. More details to come, for now make sure you grab a Simulant Stalker (aka the Miniborg) from Toy Pizza tomorrow night! Follow my Instagram for the most up to date news, there will be lots of news this week and goodies to buy!

PRHI Machine Heart 1/6 Scale Robot Figure Debut and Cotswold Collectibles Collab   2 comments

It’s been a while since I put up a post here, but anyone who follows me on Instagram knows I’ve been plenty busy making cool new stuff! The 3D printed GI Joe replacement limb game is going strong. I’ve teamed up with Cotswold Collectibles to bring Prometheus Rising Heavy Industries 3D printed goodies to more collectors, starting with the Solid Arm and Solid Leg, redesigned for easier printing and more color, and a movable thumb! (shown above). Keep an eye on IG and the Cotswold Facebook Page for news about the upcoming first release. While I was updating the Solid Limbs I took the opportunity to finish another project I’ve been working on for a few years now, a full 1/6 scale robot figure. I debuted the PRHI 1/6 scale Machine Heart action figure on IG a few weeks back, and now have photo spreads of the first three prototypes.

PRHI Solid Leg Kit for GI Joe up on Shapeways   Leave a comment

There’s a new product up on the PRHI Shapeways Shop for customizing your GI Joe 12″ figures! Following on from the PRHI Solid Arm bionic arm kit is the PRHI Solid Leg for getting your wounded Joes back up on their feet! The kit will fit on vintage GI Joes as well as reissues and Costwold Elite Brigade bodies. The Solid Leg consists of a shin, foot, and ankle (the ankle and wrist are the same part). You can order a Solid Leg using the listings in the PRHI Shapeways Shop here. You can also pick up a PRHI Solid Arm using the listings here.

PRHI Masudaya 1/5 Robot B-9/YM-3 Replacement Claws Now on Shapeways   Leave a comment

I recently picked up the incredible vintage Masudaya Robot YM-3/B-9 1/5 scale talking vinyl kit from Lost in Space at a local comic show. It’s a gorgeous kit that I quickly build up, but the claws that come with the kit are a letdown in accuracy compared to the rest of the kit. I designed a simple, drop-in replacement part that is more screen accurate and fits your robot without any modification, available in red (and other colors) plastic now from the PRHI Shapeways Shop. You could potentially cut the claws apart at the middle and make them articulated the same way the stock kit parts work, or leave them as-is for a no-effort upgrade to your trusty bot.

PRHI Roadkill Rodney Debuting at Toy de Jour’s TMNT Group Show   2 comments

Toy de Jour in Chicago is hosting an unofficial Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles-themed Group Toy Show opening on Friday, March 3rd.  I was happy to get the opportunity to contribute to my first gallery show in quite a while, as it gave me the motivation to finish a new figure design that I’ve been working on for a while.  The Roadkill Rodney robots appear in the original TMNT cartoon pilot season, as well as the early games as really obnoxious enemies.  They are great little designs that play an important role in the show, capturing the animals used to make Bebop and Rocksteady, and causing the Turtles general grief.  Unfortunately, Playmates never released a toy of them in the original toyline.  Now, you can purchase your own fully 3D printed Roadkill Rodney figure, debuting at the show in an exclusive chromed up finish!  Also making his public debut is my MACC figure from one of my favorite episodes, Attack of Big MACC.  MACC has made a few brief appearances on my Instagram before now, but this is his first release, also in a swanky chrome finish.  Both figures one-offs will be available at the show on Friday, and I am planning a regular production release of each for the summertime.

Here’s all the info for the show.  I wish I could be there in person, as I’m sure it will be a great time!  Thanks to Toy de Jour for putting on a show with such a cool theme.  I cannot wait to see what other folks have come up with.

The Rodney figure turned out great, and I’m really excited to get them out there.  Each figure features articulation at the ‘waist’, wheel, and shoulders, with a swappable tentacle part.  The display stand is removable and the wheel really rolls.  I’ve been having a lot of fun with these early test figures, and have some plans for further tweaks and options down the line.  The chrome finish was a bit of an experiment that I’m pretty happy with the results of.

MACC features articulation at the neck, shoulders, guns, and waist.  It’s a goofy, awkward design that makes for a fun little figure that looks great alongside your Turtles.

PRHI Star Wars MicroGonk Available on Shapeways   Leave a comment

prhi-gonk-mini-metal

Here’s a little for fun item available now in the PRHI Shapeways Shop.  I had a request to make a version of my Gonk Droid toy in 25 mm scale for gaming.  The mini Gonk is available in Shapeways’ high-detail plastics for use with your minis, but you can also order a teensy weensy baby Gonk in Stainless Steel!  Shown above with a vintage Kenner 3 3/4″ Jawa.  The detail came out far better than I was expecting, and it makes for a delightful little bit of hand-gokin.  Pick up one today from the shop!

PRHI Takara Magnemo, Microman, and Bandai MFV Accessories Available Now   Leave a comment

There is a whole host of new 3D printed replacement accessories for your vintage robots available now in the PRHI Shapeways Shop.  You can now buy replacement shooting fists for all of your Takara Jeeg and Gakeen magnemos, and Mego Micronauts figures such as Baron Karza or Force Commander.  Also available are Microman MicroGander replacement fists with and without 5 mm holes to hold accessories, and replacement missiles that will fit in the chest and foot launchers.  For you vinyl fans, you can now pick up missiles for your vintage Bandai Missile Fire Vinyls (MFV).  You can get regular replacement missiles, or missiles that end in a 5 mm peg so you can add your own custom warheads.  For links to each product, read after the cut.

PRHI Star Wars Black Gonk Droid 6″ on Shapeways   Leave a comment

PRHI-gonk-shapeways-03

The previous PRHI Gonk Droid 3D printed release was one of my most popular projects.  I get so many requests to offer more, but have not had the time to make another batch myself.  I finally spent the time to make a version of the PRHI Gonk Droid available through Shapeways.  This revised Gonk Droid is sold as a kit in two parts, the body and a leg sprue.  This means you can purchase the body printed in a nice bright color, and get the legs in black.  You could just block in the face details and have a great looking figure, or go all out and do a fully painted custom.  You can order the Gonk Droid now for a total of $60 using the below links to the PRHI Shapeways Store.  The kit snaps together with no glue needed, and I am really happy with the fit of the joints.

PRHI Transformers Headmaster Jr Hosehead Reproduction Accessories on Shapeways   Leave a comment

PRHI-hosehead-03

I recently picked up a loose Transformers G1 Hosehead that was missing all of the accessories except for the head. This guy is always crazy expensive for some reason, so I spent a little time and made some 3D printed replacement accessories to complete mine.  These are available now from Shapeways in two listings, one is a sprue of all the black parts and the other is the seat/helmet.  You can pick them up now from the PRHI Shapeways Store. The pics here are of my home-printed samples. The parts are close copies from reference pictures, but not exact copies so you’ll be able to tell them apart.
