3A deliveries are the best. The new portable Dropcloth is insane. They managed to replicate the 1/6 bot at half the size perfectly, to a fault. The hands are really too delicate to hold the weapons, so I added a pin to the right palm that hooks into the weapon handles like on Gundam kits.

Dougram: Earth Federation Forces in the desert 1/144 1 comment
Fang of the Sun Dougram is one of my favorite mecha series, and the old toys are fantastic. The 1/144 series manages to strike a great balance of diecast, solid construction, and sharp details into a small size that allows for army building and some nice Real Robot diorama action. Here’s an Earth Federation patrol on maneuvers in the desert.
NiStuff Adaman Hard At Work Leave a comment
NiStuff recently debuted some fantastic PVC minifigures based on his Glyos-inspired 481 Universe, and they have really inspired me to get to work. You can check them out at Ni’s site, and I’ll definitely be posting more about them in the near future, but I was having a little fun tonight and wanted to show off. The first thing I did when I got my set was get out a knife and some rare earth magnets and articulate the shoulders, to great success. Adamen are the ubiquitous worker species of the 481 setting, and I couldn’t help prep my first one as a support crew member for a very mecha-ey Glyos build I recently finished. I have a couple more on the way that will be getting the same treatment so I can paint them all at the same time, and will show more then!
Dougram Papercraft Scans Leave a comment
Someone asked if I could post the scans of the vintage Dougram papercraft kits, which were originally posted by Dougram fanatic machinesoldier over on ToyboxDX. He gave me the OK, so here they are.
Obviously these are used without permission, but I don’t think they’ll mind.
Dougram Vintage Papercraft Soltic Roundfacer 2 comments
Just a little something goofy I put together tonight. I’ve had scans of an old vintage Dougram paper model kit book forever, and I finally decided to print them out and put them together. The first up was the Soltic Roundfacer. It is rather primitive by today’s standards, but you have to give the designers credit for trying. The other figures in the book are the Dougram, Blockhead, and Crab Gunner, and I will be trying them out soon.
Welcome! 1 comment
Welcome to Prometheus Rising Studios, the home of Ben Mininberg, aka Prometheum5’s custom made toys, painted models, and other various works. Here you’ll find the latest on my homegrown, original mecha toys, as well as replacement and upgrade parts for vintage toys. I produce most of my work using 3D printing, both done at home on Afinia printers, as well as through Shapeways. You can purchase a whole assortment of fun things right now from the Promethus Rising Heavy Industries Shapeways Shop, or head to the PRHI Monster Kolor Shop for original figures and custom painted toys. I also use this space to display some of my other works, including toy restorations, model kit builds, and miniature paint jobs. Drop me a line using the Contact Me link or leave a comment with questions. I am always happy to help out a fellow hobbyist, and one of my goals with this site is to make 3D printing accessible by demonstrating what can be done with a little ingenuity and a lot of creativity!

Kaiju Kaos Monster Diorama Kompleted! 1 comment
Kaiju Kaos is a new 28mm miniature game by Bryan K. Borgman of Bailey Records. A number of smaller pewter and larger resin monster figures are available, but the game is also designed to allow kaiju collectors to use their own figures in the game. The Kaos Monster here is the flagship monster release so far, and Bryan contacted me to have me paint one. He wanted a crazy Monster Kolor sprayed figure to show off some of the crossover potential between kaiju stylings and his tabletop wargame. Tons more photos of the completed scene after the break!
28mm Buffalo Power Armor Desert Leave a comment
I picked up this metal mini a while back that was clearly more than a little inspired by Machinen Krieger. I reposed it, whipped up a custom scenic base, and added some resin stowage from Verlinden. Painted pretty much from start to finish in one sitting in between steps on larger projects. Everything is acrylics with a brush.
Real X Head x Onell Chaos Trooper Frankenruge Leave a comment
The new Chaos Trooper sculpt from Real X Head blends design elements from the vinyl Adult Chaosman with Onell’s Glyos sculpts, in particular from the Chaos Invasion Custom Corps wave. The debut release of the new Trooper was on flesh vinyl, and I managed to pick up two so that I could get a Frankenruge version painted up to match my Glyos Frankenruge Trooper.
